Anyone who thinks that a sailor's life is easy or that I am in Italy sipping Cappuccinos and flirting with handsome Italian men, please know this. I'M NOT. ...at least not yet.
We were hauled out today and put "on the hard". Which means dry docked in order to paint the bottom and do a few out-of-water repairs. It was in the plan, the captain just failed to mention this as I selected my dates to join them!
The Monday after Easter is a holiday here, so at 7:30am Tuesday, the boat yard workers were at our side assisting us from the slip to the ramp. Yelling in Italian, they motioned what they wanted. Reverse the boat between the cement walls, (WHAT?!) lines thrown, get off the boat, stand back.
After a good pressure washing, she was placed in our spot for the next 3 days. We are now in the boat yard and there is a LOT to be done.

Cappuccinos with Italian men indeed sounds better.
